EPDM Lap Sealant, the third part of Dicor's three-part roofing system, creates a secure, secondary seal along the roof's edges, air vents, vent pipes, and screw heads. It is compatible with EPDM, Dicor Diflex II, and Britek TPO Roofing, and adheres firmly to a variety of materials, including aluminum, mortar, wood, vinyl, galvanized metal, fiberglass, and concrete.
Ideal for aftermarket use, the lap sealant is one of the highest volume products sold in RV stores today. To use, clean the surface of all dirt, loose paint, rust, oil, and grease, and allow it to dry before applying the sealant using standard caulking equipment. In cold weather, warm the container to room temperature before use.
The cure time for the lap sealant varies depending on the weather conditions. In 50-70 degree Fahrenheit weather, the sealant will skin over in 5 minutes, become waterproof in 4 hours, cure 80% in 48 hours, and reach 100% cure in 30 days. The manufacturers' production date is located on the bottom of the tube, and this is not an expiration date, but rather the date of production. As long as the product is stored in a dry location and not exposed to extreme temperatures, it can last indefinitely.
