RV Rubber Roof Sealant
The third part of Dicor's three-part roofing system, EPDM Lap Sealant is designed to create a secure, secondary seal along the roof's edges, air vents, vent pipes, and screw heads. This versatile sealant is compatible with EPDM and TPO sheeting, and adheres firmly to a wide range of materials, including aluminum, mortar, wood, vinyl, galvanized metal, fiberglass, and concrete.
The lap sealant is particularly well-suited for aftermarket use and is one of the highest volume products sold in RV stores today. To ensure optimal performance, it is essential to follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper application.
Directions for Use: 1. Clean the surface of all dirt, loose paint, rust, oil, and grease. 2. Allow the surface to dry before applying the sealant. 3. Use standard caulking equipment to apply the sealant. 4. In cold weather, warm the container to room temperature before use.
Approximate Lap Sealant Cure Times: - 5 Minutes – Skins over - 4 Hours – Waterproof - 48 Hours – Cure 80% - 30 Days – 100% Cure
It is important to note that the manufacturer's production date is located on the bottom of the tube, which is not an expiration date but rather the production date. Provided that the product is stored in a dry location and not exposed to extreme temperatures, it can last indefinitely. The ideal storage temperature range is between 55 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
